How does it work?
Friday Outlines: Families arrive between 8:45 and 9:00 a.m. and begin with a 20-minute group time of liturgy that includes sharing, singing and prayer. Our classes for upper elementary students and older are on average 65 minutes long. A recess for students under the middle school level is offered. Other students have a ten-minute break between classes.
Tuesday classes: Due to a cadre of committed instructors, we are able to offer a selection of core, rhetoric-level (approximately high school) classes. The format is this: For a “lecture period” offered on a Friday, a corresponding writing lab/study hour will be offered on Tuesday and vice versa. When you register for one class, your student is automatically enrolled in the corresponding second day of classes.
Naturally, our teachers are primarily parents of enrolled students who themselves partner with the parents of their students to achieve our goal of teaching a few subjects well. Instructors commit to teaching according to our philosophy and growing in classical pedagogy through training from ClassicalU. If you plan to teach, please ensure you have received a copy of our Instructor/Volunteer Manual.
